What's Up in my Life | Update

I feel as though I haven't posted in a while, even though it as only been about 2 weeks. So this is just going to be an informal update post about what I have been up to. 

I'm completely my spring semester of my first year of college and I've been super busy with my classes and with the different organizations I'm involved with. Coming up in about 2 weeks are finals so I'm kind of  trying to prepare for those. And I can't believe that my freshman year is almost over, it really has been a great learning experience. I will do an end of my freshman year of college experience and advice post. 

Besides classes and studying, I haven't been up to too much. I've been applying for internships for this summer but most places want Sophomores or upperclassmen as their applicants, which I completely understand. So now I'm in the stage of just finding a summer job in my home city. 

Back in my home city, the Masters Golf Tournament happened just this past week. I worked the Masters for three years but since I'm in college, the spring breaks were definitely so I am kind of sad I didn't get to experience that this year again. My sister, however, worked the Masters this year because she is finally of age to do so. Working the Masters  definitely takes a lot of endurance and strength because you work for at least 12 hours or more. My sister was like she didn't understand how I did it for 3 years because it was so tiring, but it is also fun and the pay for just a week worth of work is awesome. 

I did a poll a while back on my Twitter talking about whether or not you all would be interested in reading a storytime and I received a high percentage for yes! So look for a storytime post coming soon. 

Summer is approaching soon, so I should definitely have more posts for you all.  Since I'll most likely be back home, I'll try to incorporate more lifestyle posts and fun posts.

Relatable Sunday #17

People will talk and give you advice and their opinions till the day you die, but sometimes you just have to do you do, and forget about what others think you should do. Because at the end of the day, you have to live with your decisions and not the decisions others have made for you. We live in a time where everyone has their own opinions and feel the need to voice them, even when it doesn't pertain to them.  And I'm not talking about speaking up for what's right, I'm talking about butting into others conversations and stating what they feel. There is a way to do certain things.  But then again, this quote doesn't mean that you shouldn't listen to what others have to say. You just have to choose what is best for that particular situation.

Relatable Sunday #16

Is it just me, or did January go by so fast?  I know that we have 2 more weeks left, but with everything I have to do lately, it just feels like February is around the corner.  I especially picked the quote out today because I was recently looking at everything I have to do for school from now to the end of the semester and I kind of feel overwhelmed by how many  events I have going on. I do like to stay busy, but gosh, it feels as though every weekend I have something to do from now until May. But, I just have to suck it up because I know that at the end it will definitely be worth it.  I was recently cast in the play "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and we are also reviving our one-act play "Selkie" for the SETC competition at the same time as we are doing the Shakespeare's play. So like I said I will definitely be busy this semester, but I feel like it is all good and so worth it. And as my many events approach I will try to post about them and keep y'all inform.

Relatable Sunday #14

I decided that I should start the new year off strong and post a relatable Sunday on the first Sunday of the new year. I hope you all had a safe and enjoyable time ringing in the new year. I, for one was at home in my pajamas ringing in the new year which I enjoyed very much. What are some things you all are looking forward to this year? 

With the new year, comes new year resolutions. And I know, I am one to say that I am going to do all these things, and by the end of the month I totally abandoned them. Hopefully, this year is different. Everyone is saying things like 2015 is their year, but I really do believe that 2015 will be MY year. I can already feel all the blessings that the Lord has in store for me.  But I know that I must aim high while working hard to achieve excellence.  It is one thing to say something, but it is another thing to actually put it into action. Taking action by planning is one way to start. In the end, you might not achieve the exact goal you were hoping for, but you can honestly say that you put in necessary actions toward that goal.

So this quote is pretty much self- explanatory. Instead of just living for myself day- to-day, I want to go out and inspire and help others. I'm positive that I can say that because of someone else I didn't give up, which really impacted my life. Because the times that you do feel like giving up and it seem as though all hope is lost, is when hopefully someone comes along the way, and tell you to "Keep on trying," and to  "Not give up just yet." And with this attitude, I am sure that I can make a positive difference in others around me. And I hope you can as well.

I'm sorry that I haven't posted in like over a month. But with school comes rehearsal which mean I am really busy and tired all the time. But no excuses, I'm trying to get back on the ball and do my posts on Sundays and a post on either Tuesday or Thursday of that week. Thanks for understanding, y'all. 

I believe this quote is so true. Happy just doesn't mean that you're rich just living the good life (although there isn't anything wrong with that.) Happy people, I believe, makes the world go round. Because the warmth of a smile means so much to another person and it also signifies being friendly, which I like.  When trials and tribulations seem to come your way, don't stop believing, don't stop being happy. Because the best is yet to come. And the Lord knows what He is doing and what is best for your life. Making the best out of everything is truly living. When you can forget about what is holding you down, and just start being happy.

We all have a goal we are tying to reach. Sometimes it feels like we are never going to reach it, but with time and patience we usually achieve our goal(s).  But for now take small steps, do little things that one day will lead you to that bigger goal (step) in your life. Whatever you do, try not to consider it "too small" because what you do in life is never "too small." While taking this path in life keep your head up and keep on going to your goal because bigger things awaits for you.

Even when you think you can no longer endure the fight, get up and keep fighting. Not to prove others wrong, but to prove to yourself that no matter how bad things get, you are a true champion. Persistence and motivation is key to success. Keep on pushing through to greatness.  When things in your life knocks you down, don't simply stay there, get back on your feet and continue to go through this journey we call life. A champion doesn't have to be just associated with sports but also to life.

Relatable Sunday #5

I hope you all are enjoying your Labor Day weekend. I am so glad to be out for school on Monday, even though I have only been going to school for 3 weeks I needed a break. I feel like I shouldn't needed a break so soon. Oh well, hope you all enjoy this post. 

Fear has a way of hindering us of doing things we are capable of. You think you can't do something or that you are not best fit for the job. But don't concentrate on the negative, put your faith in God and he will work everything out for you. God never want us as humans to fear. He knows what we are capable of and He wouldn't put more on us than we can bear. Believe in God, even though it might be hard to see yourself doing something, just know that God has your best interest at heart. It so easy to fear. So easy to get caught up in the actions of the world and lose faith. But hold on to your faith, God will see you through till the end of time. I saw this other quote somewhere else and it said, "Don't be fearful, be faithful." Trust in the Lord, He knows the direction for your life and the steps you need to take to fulfill your future.

I have this mentality that everything has to be perfect and that I have to be perfect. But the fact of the matter is no one is perfect or any where near perfect. Many people have so many challenges and struggles in their lives in which sometimes they don't let others see. But we were all born to make mistakes and learn from those mistakes because that is what makes us humans. Because if everyone was always perfect this would be a boring world. haha Don't look at celebrities and think they are perfect either because they are truly dealing with a lot of issues themselves. Live your life not to become this "perfect person" but to become who you are which is real and a human being. Show your emotions, laugh, cry, and be happy or sad. Be late to an event just because. Do things out of the ordinary for yourself. When you truly stop this mentality of trying to be "perfect" then you truly start living life to the fullest.

Numerous people have told me before that it seems like I'm always smiling. I think I respond by telling them that its easier for me to smile than be mad or angry. I know that life gets tough and at times it seems like you can't smile or be happy about anything. But, just remember how far you've come and also because I bet there are so many more people out there doing worse than you. So you have be grateful for what you have and by doing that- it will cause you to be happy. I have had those days where I look in the mirror and it seems like I don't have anything to be happy about. But then, I realized that I woke up this morning, I have my health, and a roof above my head and that is truly something to be happy about. And you look so much prettier when you smile because it shows that you love being you. And the you-you are is pretty.

Relatable Sunday #2

Y'all I start school tomorrow, August 11th. I'm finally going to be a senior in high school. Woooo!!!! I'm super excited and a bit nervous as to what this school year has to offer for me. This Sunday's quote is especially tied to school, so I hope you all can relate.

Is this not the most relatable quote about school ever. It seem like now you just want to finish school and not think about anything that has to deal with it. But, I feel like once you leave you are gonna definitely miss all the great times you had there. I'm in drama class at my school and we have alot and I mean ALOT of after school rehearsals and days where we have to stay after school until 7pm. So school is like my second home, whether I like it to be or not. I really feel like school gives you a chance to become the person you are and develop yourself even more. I know about the struggles you might face at school. Trust me, you are not in that boat alone. Days where you feel like you are not gonna make it, but at the end you can look back and say hey I remember that day and hey I'm here, so I've overcome that struggle or obstacle. And I've heard that college is nothing like high school so enjoy it while you can. Because in a blink of an eye it will all be over.

Relatable Sunday #1

I will be starting this series called "Relatable Sunday" and on every Sunday, I will be posting a quote that I find are relatable to you all and me  So I hope that y'all enjoy this series on my blog.

I thought that this was an excellent quote to start this series on my blog and especially since it is back to school time/season. I especially struggled with my own insecurities getting the best of me many times before and I felt like I wasn't good enough or that I shouldn't do certain things because I wasn't like everyone else. But, you don't have to be like everyone else. The Lord has created you in His image, so you shouldn't feel afraid or ashamed of the person you are. I've recently learned that once you start loving the person you are things will become easier for you. No matter if you're insecure about your body, the way you talk, the way you dress, the way your hair look, or whatever the case might be. People will talk no matter what you look like and you just have to forget about what they are saying about you and focus more on yourself and bettering yourself. So don't stop reaching your goals or dreams because of your own insecurities; because you never know what might be out there for you.
