Inspirational Sunday

Most Wonderful Time by Alethea and Ruth:

This saying is back once again, and I agree with this quote very much. I don't know what it is, but there is something with Thanksgiving and Christmas being so close together that gets everyone in that holiday spirit and mood and also brings family and friends together, and I think it is just great. But with all of the hype of receiving gifts, one should not forget the reason for the season. Nowadays, I believe many people forget about this important aspect of the holiday season. I am not saying that one should go on a rampage about how the Starbucks cups are just a plain red cup. With all this holiday cheer, let's keep in mind what is important. I know we can all get into the hype of Black Friday and Cyber Monday (I know I do) and getting deals for this and that, but let us not remove our focus on heavenly things. Spread the love, give a hug, enjoy the holiday season. I kind of like that slogan I just came up with. I might just start all of my holiday posts with that slogan.

I will be uploading a new post every Tuesday and Thursday up to Christmas Day.

Inspirational Sunday

Start:
Of course, these aren't the words anyone wants to hear when we know we have a billion of other things to do, but it is the truth. And this little secret is a secret we have all known before, but still have trouble facing. This upcoming week, I have so many exams and assignments due, and the last thing I want to do over the weekend is study because the exams aren't until Thursday and Friday. But I know that within this upcoming week, I am going to be involve in my clubs and organizations that I might not fully invest in studying for these exams, even though I should. Once I got started, it became easier, and now I know that I have some type of advantage because I started and now I am ahead of my schedule. This quote doesn't even have to apply to just school, but also in our own personal life. If you have goals and plans, take the action today to get closer to those goals and plans. We never know what life might throw us, so get up and get started..your future is waiting for you.

Inspirational Sunday

Be careful how you are talking to yourself because you are listening. - Lisa M. Hayes #quotes

Sometimes you have to be your own motivator and give your own self encouragement. Even if you are joking, sometimes we say things to our own selves and we believe it. Just like we shouldn't say things to tear others down; we shouldn't say things to tear our own self down, also. If you speak positive things into the atmosphere and into existence, then you will believe it and start living it. Because sometimes it is so easy to say that "I won't be able to achieve this or that," but if you say you CAN achieve this or that, than you will. You have to believe in yourself, and stop talking down to your own self. Yes, we listen to what others say about us, but we listen more to what we say about our own self. Speak positive things about yourself, encourage your own self, motivate yourself, and you will see a major change in the person who are and trying to become.

Great ideas for tackling procrastination and getting things done! Love this free printable to serve as a reminder!

I believe this quote is especially for me, since I have been procrastinating packing for college. Even though I know it has to be done, I am really dreading it partly because I don't know where to start. But, this quote also goes for your own dreams and goals that you have for your life. You say you want be an actress, well enroll in some acting classes and even go out and audition; you honestly don't know what will happen if you don't take that leap of faith and start making your goals and dreams a reality. Yes, even though you may start a task does not mean it may end the way you hoped, but don't stop.  Instead of just writing on your to-do list, actually get check things off on the list by getting things done, and the only way to do that is to start.  I know, it is painful to start especially if it something you don't want to do, but once it's done you will be grateful and even feel accomplished.  This quote also goes with another saying, "Why put off things until tomorrow, when you can do it today?"

Inspirational Sunday

Don't be like the rest of them darling

I can't believe it's August, July really did fly by. And with the month of August comes back to school time for many of us. I know, say goodbye to the summer days, and hello to school work and fall. But with school starting back, I just wanted to let you know that you are beautiful and you are your own person. So do not try to be someone you are not. I know with me entering college this fall, I need to be true to myself and just be who I am and not let others influence me. I know it's easy to fall with the wrong crowd, but if you are true to yourself and who you are you won't have to worry about others and what they are doing. Because trust me if they see you have your act together and are not bothered about what they are doing, they are going to try to be more like you. Honestly, love the quote for today.
Be original, Be yourself.

20 Motivational Quotes to Start Your Week

What a great question to ask yourself.  We all have goals that we set for ourselves, no matter if they are big or small goals, we all have set some. And we have a pretty good idea as to how we are going to achieve our goals.  So we should be working everyday to be a step closer to our goals. Often times, we are worrying about what other people are doing and how they got this and got that, but what are YOU doing to be where YOU want to be. And maybe the goal that you want to be closer to, involves you working towards that goal. Honestly, nothing really comes to you in life free, more times than not you have to work for what you want. Today, we should be working to get a step closer to our goal/ wherever you want to be. Do not be involve in other people affairs that it interrupts you being where you want and need to be in life.

Inspirational Sunday

There is always, always something to be thankful for

There are some people who didn't wake up this morning, didn't have food on the table, or even  didn't have clothes to put on their backs. But, this morning I woke up, ate breakfast, and put clothes on my back, and I have to say thank you to God for that. I thank God for all that he is doing for my life. And at times, I do not stop and thank Him for the "little things" and things that I may take for granted, but I am truly thankful. Especially in today's time, where people are always on the go, we do not stop and say "thank you" for the "little things." For being able to breathe, and live another day is truly a blessing and something to be thankful for. Let's not be to involved in our own lives to not give the praise and thanksgiving to the Lord. I remember a time where someone told me that because of me they were able to smile and have a brighter day and he told me thank you for being myself and cheerful. And honestly that made my day.  Like the quotes states above, there is always something to be thankful for, and I really do believe that.

Inspiring #quotes and #affirmations by Calm Down Now, an empowering mobile app for overcoming anxiety.

Hey y'all, I have decided to change my Relatable Sundays post name to Inspirational Sunday, and speaking of posting, I definitely have fell off on the radar in not posting on my blog. And I honestly don't know why because I have a list of some ideas I would like to write and blog about. But hopefully this week I continue to pick myself up and start blogging again because this is what I honestly love to do.

As for this quote today, no matter what your next chapter is in life, you shouldn't concentrate on your mistakes or failures in the past. Yes, you made mistakes but now you can learn from them, and not be in the state to constantly be reminded of them. Sometimes people do believe that what happened in their past have to become them, and that is entirely not true. You have the option to start the new chapter in your life and you have to option to learn and grow as a person.

So any other words, it is time to pick up a new book and start a new page for your life. And you have the choice to have a good or bad ending, because YOU are the author/narrator.

Relatable Sunday #18

We sometimes think we need a plan for everything. But, sometimes those plans don't always go the way you hoped it would have.  I love this quote because it goes perfectly with the song, "Let Go" by DeWayne Woods. When we stop stressing/worrying about how the outcome is going to be, that is when the Lord truly starts working. If you let God have His way then that is when things start happening for your life. For me, I stress so much, and sometimes it's over small things, and I know I shouldn't worry about it because God has my back. Breathe, realize you don't always have to be the one with a plan. Trust, that the Lord will see you through. Let Go, of all the stress and worrying that is holding you back. And See the wonderful works the Lord can do.  Like in Jeremiah 29:11, the Lord has a plan for you and it is not in His heart to see your fail. I've recently decided where I want to attend college this fall, and I just put it into the Lord hands that I made the best decision and I will truly see what happens.

Relatable Sunday #17

People will talk and give you advice and their opinions till the day you die, but sometimes you just have to do you do, and forget about what others think you should do. Because at the end of the day, you have to live with your decisions and not the decisions others have made for you. We live in a time where everyone has their own opinions and feel the need to voice them, even when it doesn't pertain to them.  And I'm not talking about speaking up for what's right, I'm talking about butting into others conversations and stating what they feel. There is a way to do certain things.  But then again, this quote doesn't mean that you shouldn't listen to what others have to say. You just have to choose what is best for that particular situation.

Relatable Sunday #16

Is it just me, or did January go by so fast?  I know that we have 2 more weeks left, but with everything I have to do lately, it just feels like February is around the corner.  I especially picked the quote out today because I was recently looking at everything I have to do for school from now to the end of the semester and I kind of feel overwhelmed by how many  events I have going on. I do like to stay busy, but gosh, it feels as though every weekend I have something to do from now until May. But, I just have to suck it up because I know that at the end it will definitely be worth it.  I was recently cast in the play "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and we are also reviving our one-act play "Selkie" for the SETC competition at the same time as we are doing the Shakespeare's play. So like I said I will definitely be busy this semester, but I feel like it is all good and so worth it. And as my many events approach I will try to post about them and keep y'all inform.

Relatable Sunday #14

I decided that I should start the new year off strong and post a relatable Sunday on the first Sunday of the new year. I hope you all had a safe and enjoyable time ringing in the new year. I, for one was at home in my pajamas ringing in the new year which I enjoyed very much. What are some things you all are looking forward to this year?

Absolutely...

With the new year, comes new year resolutions. And I know, I am one to say that I am going to do all these things, and by the end of the month I totally abandoned them. Hopefully, this year is different. Everyone is saying things like 2015 is their year, but I really do believe that 2015 will be MY year. I can already feel all the blessings that the Lord has in store for me.  But I know that I must aim high while working hard to achieve excellence.  It is one thing to say something, but it is another thing to actually put it into action. Taking action by planning is one way to start. In the end, you might not achieve the exact goal you were hoping for, but you can honestly say that you put in necessary actions toward that goal.

Relatable Sunday #13

Y'all, It's exam week, should I say more.. Haha. Through the madness of studying, writing essays, applying for scholarships, and having rehearsals, I am here to say that it can be done. The Lord really did just pick me up and say you're not done yet, Sheika. With saying this, I've been accepted to one of the colleges I applied to which is a blessing and I was so happy to receive my acceptance letter the other day. Yesterday, I took the SAT and that was just a long and tiresome test altogether, but I'm pretty sure I'm done with taking the SAT/ACT for forever. Now, I just have to make through the second semester of my senior year.. where I know the Lord will have to stand by me and pick me up and drag me through the rest of the school year. Because y'all, senioritis is a thing and it's so real.

Relatable Sunday #9

I'm sorry that I haven't posted in like over a month. But with school comes rehearsal which mean I am really busy and tired all the time. But no excuses, I'm trying to get back on the ball and do my posts on Sundays and a post on either Tuesday or Thursday of that week. Thanks for understanding, y'all.

I'm sure I've pinned this already. Worth the second/third/fourth pin.

I believe this quote is so true. Happy just doesn't mean that you're rich just living the good life (although there isn't anything wrong with that.) Happy people, I believe, makes the world go round. Because the warmth of a smile means so much to another person and it also signifies being friendly, which I like.  When trials and tribulations seem to come your way, don't stop believing, don't stop being happy. Because the best is yet to come. And the Lord knows what He is doing and what is best for your life. Making the best out of everything is truly living. When you can forget about what is holding you down, and just start being happy.

Relatable Sunday #8

baby steps
We all have a goal we are tying to reach. Sometimes it feels like we are never going to reach it, but with time and patience we usually achieve our goal(s).  But for now take small steps, do little things that one day will lead you to that bigger goal (step) in your life. Whatever you do, try not to consider it "too small" because what you do in life is never "too small." While taking this path in life keep your head up and keep on going to your goal because bigger things awaits for you.

champion

Even when you think you can no longer endure the fight, get up and keep fighting. Not to prove others wrong, but to prove to yourself that no matter how bad things get, you are a true champion. Persistence and motivation is key to success. Keep on pushing through to greatness.  When things in your life knocks you down, don't simply stay there, get back on your feet and continue to go through this journey we call life. A champion doesn't have to be just associated with sports but also to life.

Relatable Sunday #5

I hope you all are enjoying your Labor Day weekend. I am so glad to be out for school on Monday, even though I have only been going to school for 3 weeks I needed a break. I feel like I shouldn't needed a break so soon. Oh well, hope you all enjoy this post.
Inspirational Quote - Fear Quote - Sunflower Photograph - mounted print wall art - Let Your Faith Be Bigger than Your Fear

Fear has a way of hindering us of doing things we are capable of. You think you can't do something or that you are not best fit for the job. But don't concentrate on the negative, put your faith in God and he will work everything out for you. God never want us as humans to fear. He knows what we are capable of and He wouldn't put more on us than we can bear. Believe in God, even though it might be hard to see yourself doing something, just know that God has your best interest at heart. It so easy to fear. So easy to get caught up in the actions of the world and lose faith. But hold on to your faith, God will see you through till the end of time. I saw this other quote somewhere else and it said, "Don't be fearful, be faithful." Trust in the Lord, He knows the direction for your life and the steps you need to take to fulfill your future.

Relatable Sunday #4

Untitled

I have this mentality that everything has to be perfect and that I have to be perfect. But the fact of the matter is no one is perfect or any where near perfect. Many people have so many challenges and struggles in their lives in which sometimes they don't let others see. But we were all born to make mistakes and learn from those mistakes because that is what makes us humans. Because if everyone was always perfect this would be a boring world. haha Don't look at celebrities and think they are perfect either because they are truly dealing with a lot of issues themselves. Live your life not to become this "perfect person" but to become who you are which is real and a human being. Show your emotions, laugh, cry, and be happy or sad. Be late to an event just because. Do things out of the ordinary for yourself. When you truly stop this mentality of trying to be "perfect" then you truly start living life to the fullest.

Quote about happy girls and being pretty by veronicawasp
Numerous people have told me before that it seems like I'm always smiling. I think I respond by telling them that its easier for me to smile than be mad or angry. I know that life gets tough and at times it seems like you can't smile or be happy about anything. But, just remember how far you've come and also because I bet there are so many more people out there doing worse than you. So you have be grateful for what you have and by doing that- it will cause you to be happy. I have had those days where I look in the mirror and it seems like I don't have anything to be happy about. But then, I realized that I woke up this morning, I have my health, and a roof above my head and that is truly something to be happy about. And you look so much prettier when you smile because it shows that you love being you. And the you-you are is pretty.
