Wake Up America

If you have been watching the news or even scrolling through social media, you've probably seen the massive posts about #blacklivematters and different videos of police brutality circulating. I always want to instill positivity on my blog and in real life so I know it would be hard to publish this post, but I did not want to ignore the fact that this is happening in America today. If you did happen to see the videos, you would know that it is sickening to see and I personally was heartbroken to see that happened. From the past week of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile to cops being shot, enough is enough. I pray that the Lord would remove the hatred from people's hearts and instill peace.

I definitely don't want this post to be about a race issue or even targeting cops because that is not what I intend to do. The quote above is a great one because if we do want to end what is happening, we as Americans , need to come together and stay together while working together. I remember when I was younger I used to look up to policemen because they are the ones to protect us. Now, as I am older I do not feel as protected which is scary; to know I am living in a place where I do not feel protected by the people whose job is to protect All Americans while still abiding by the laws that are set.

I know I don't have all the right words to say about what's is happening now, but I feel the need to speak up because I have not really spoken out about this subject. I am not trying to tell you how you should feel about this subject, but We Need Justice.

This poem below  by Javon Jackson definitely touches my heart. I've seen too many Facebook posts about women posting that they fear having and raising a black boy in America, which definitely should not be the case.

Prayers for the whole world!
Stay Woke!

Inspirational Sunday

I hope you all had a wonderful time ringing in the New Years.!
Last year I said that 2015 will be my year, and I believe that 2015 WAS my year and I enjoyed every bit of it. If you didn't already see my last post about my 2015 year in review you can click here

#Quote #Happy http://www.kidsdinge.com https://www.facebook.com/pages/kidsdingecom-Origineel-speelgoed-hebbedingen-voor-hippe-kids/160122710686387?sk=wall http://instagram.com/kidsdinge:
The beauty of having a new year is that you have the ability to make your own goals and dreams and no one can stop you.  Even though it is so cliché nowadays, but the saying "new year, new me" is right. This is the chance that you can make whatever you want happen. Each day is a new start for you to be closer to your dreams. Just like anything, you have to work for what you want. I know I have a habit into getting in old habits and routine, but I will try to start new ways. I love that each line in the picture above start with the word  "happy". Maybe to change something about yourself, you should first try to be happy. Leave what you didn't like in 2015, and start your own adventures and write your own book that you would love to read in 2016.

Great ideas for tackling procrastination and getting things done! Love this free printable to serve as a reminder!

I believe this quote is especially for me, since I have been procrastinating packing for college. Even though I know it has to be done, I am really dreading it partly because I don't know where to start. But, this quote also goes for your own dreams and goals that you have for your life. You say you want be an actress, well enroll in some acting classes and even go out and audition; you honestly don't know what will happen if you don't take that leap of faith and start making your goals and dreams a reality. Yes, even though you may start a task does not mean it may end the way you hoped, but don't stop.  Instead of just writing on your to-do list, actually get check things off on the list by getting things done, and the only way to do that is to start.  I know, it is painful to start especially if it something you don't want to do, but once it's done you will be grateful and even feel accomplished.  This quote also goes with another saying, "Why put off things until tomorrow, when you can do it today?"

Inspirational Sunday

There is always, always something to be thankful for

There are some people who didn't wake up this morning, didn't have food on the table, or even  didn't have clothes to put on their backs. But, this morning I woke up, ate breakfast, and put clothes on my back, and I have to say thank you to God for that. I thank God for all that he is doing for my life. And at times, I do not stop and thank Him for the "little things" and things that I may take for granted, but I am truly thankful. Especially in today's time, where people are always on the go, we do not stop and say "thank you" for the "little things." For being able to breathe, and live another day is truly a blessing and something to be thankful for. Let's not be to involved in our own lives to not give the praise and thanksgiving to the Lord. I remember a time where someone told me that because of me they were able to smile and have a brighter day and he told me thank you for being myself and cheerful. And honestly that made my day.  Like the quotes states above, there is always something to be thankful for, and I really do believe that.

Relatable Sunday #18

We sometimes think we need a plan for everything. But, sometimes those plans don't always go the way you hoped it would have.  I love this quote because it goes perfectly with the song, "Let Go" by DeWayne Woods. When we stop stressing/worrying about how the outcome is going to be, that is when the Lord truly starts working. If you let God have His way then that is when things start happening for your life. For me, I stress so much, and sometimes it's over small things, and I know I shouldn't worry about it because God has my back. Breathe, realize you don't always have to be the one with a plan. Trust, that the Lord will see you through. Let Go, of all the stress and worrying that is holding you back. And See the wonderful works the Lord can do.  Like in Jeremiah 29:11, the Lord has a plan for you and it is not in His heart to see your fail. I've recently decided where I want to attend college this fall, and I just put it into the Lord hands that I made the best decision and I will truly see what happens.

Relatable Sunday #4

Untitled

I have this mentality that everything has to be perfect and that I have to be perfect. But the fact of the matter is no one is perfect or any where near perfect. Many people have so many challenges and struggles in their lives in which sometimes they don't let others see. But we were all born to make mistakes and learn from those mistakes because that is what makes us humans. Because if everyone was always perfect this would be a boring world. haha Don't look at celebrities and think they are perfect either because they are truly dealing with a lot of issues themselves. Live your life not to become this "perfect person" but to become who you are which is real and a human being. Show your emotions, laugh, cry, and be happy or sad. Be late to an event just because. Do things out of the ordinary for yourself. When you truly stop this mentality of trying to be "perfect" then you truly start living life to the fullest.

DIY Tumblr Inspired Room

Hey y'all, I've been really inspired to make my room my own and add a little bit more "flair" to it. So I've seen so many people hang Christmas lights in their rooms year round and I thought that was adorable and it looks really nice at night. So here is a DIY I sorta put together.

Around the wall of my room, I put up little clear command strips.
Then I looped the ribbon on those command strips. Tying a knot on the command strips when I got to them, so that it could stay sturdy and maintain that "u" shape.
Next, I bought clothes pins (Dollar Tree) and painted them with different colors and designs. (I stuck to the colors white, pink, purple, and yellow.) I positioned the clothespins on the ribbon about 5 inches apart.
I found the pictures (things you like, quotes, food, places) off of weheartit and pinterest and just printed those out on card-stock.
After that, I hung the pictures on the clothespins that were on the ribbon around my room.
Finally, I hanged up the Christmas lights in a bigger "u" shape under the ribbon and pictures; so that the lights  look like its highlighting the pictures.

Hope you all enjoyed this post.
