The Christmas Tag \\ 2015

I know this Christmas Tag is really old, but I've never posted a tag Q&A on my bog before. I know in the Youtube community tag videos are especially popular, but I figured it would be nice for me to answer some Christmas related questions here.

1. What is your favorite Christmas film?

My Favorite Christmas Movies
If you haven't seen my post about my favorite Christmas movies, click on the picture above. My absolute favorite Christmas film has to be The Polar Express. There is just something about the message behind the movie that I love.

2. Have you ever had a White Christmas?

I have never had a White Christmas, and this year it is no exception. Usually, it is a bit cooler in December, but this year it has been up in the 70s, here in Georgia.

3. Where do you usually spend your holiday?

At home with my immediate family in Georgia. We honestly have family all over, so it would be a struggle to get everyone together at one place.

4. What is your favorite Christmas song?

My favorite Christmas song has to be Carol of the Bells. I like this edition by Pentatonix.

5. Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?

We honestly don't open any presents on Christmas Eve, but sometimes we do go through our stockings.

6.Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer?

Let's see.. Rudolph, Prancer, Dancer... I guess not.

7. What holiday traditions are you looking forward to most this year?

This tradition already passed, but the day after Thanksgiving we help put the tree together, and then an upcoming tradition, I guess, is taking the tree apart before the New Years.

8. Is your Christmas tree real or fake?

Unfortunately. our Christmas tree is fake. Please don't judge. Our fake Christmas tree has lasted us for sooo many years, and I honestly love it. When I get back home, I will definitely take pictures of our tree.

9. What is your all-time favorite holiday food/sweet treat?

If you haven't seen my last post about my obsession with peppermint this time of year click the picture below to be directed to that post.  I honestly love peppermint bark during the holiday season.

10. Be honest: do you like giving gifts or receiving gifts better?

Honestly, I love giving gifts and seeing the face of the person you gave the gift to. I enjoy picking and selecting which gifts I think best fits the person. I honestly just love seeing people happy which makes me happy. But no doubt about it, I still like receiving gifts, but I receive great satisfaction from giving gifts.

11. What is the best Christmas gift you’ve ever received?

Oh my gosh, Out of all the gifts I've received, I would have to say that my embroidery machine has got to be my best Christmas gift I've ever received  just because I still use it and I honestly just love monogramming items on it.

12. What would be your dream place to visit for the holiday season?

I've never thought about spending Christmas anywhere else, but if I had to choose I would say England. I always wanted to go to London, and I bet during the holiday season it is just even more beautiful.

13. Are you a pro-present wrapper, or do you fail miserably?

I wouldn't say I am a pro, but I don't believe I fail miserably, either.

14. Most memorable Holiday moment?

When I was younger, my dad was in the military and he was stationed in Texas for 16 months. One day, my mom took my siblings and I to the airport where she told us that we were picking up our cousin, but at the baggage claim area I saw my dad and my siblings and I ran towards him. It was  honestly just greatest thing ever because he got to spend Christmas with us instead of being in Texas, and we haven't seen him in a while.

15. What made you realize the truth about Santa?

I am literally laughing right now about how I found out about Santa. My brother who is 2 years older than me told me one year that he saw my mother wrapping presents and putting them under the tree, but I didn't believe him. So the next Christmas, my younger sister (2 years younger than me), my brother, and I stayed up all night and saw that my mother WAS placing gifts under the tree, and then we all went out and confronted my mom. My mom was like why aren't y'all sleeping. It is seriously funny looking back and seeing how angry we all got about knowing the truth about Santa.

16. Do you make New Years resolutions? Do you stick to them?

Some years I do make New Years resolutions, and others years it just kind of slip by me. When I do make New Years resolutions, I most always never stick to them, which I know is bad.

17. What makes the holidays special for you?

I just love the holiday season because I get to spend time with my family. I can honestly just feel the love all around during this time of year and I love it.

Inspirational Sunday

Most Wonderful Time by Alethea and Ruth:

This saying is back once again, and I agree with this quote very much. I don't know what it is, but there is something with Thanksgiving and Christmas being so close together that gets everyone in that holiday spirit and mood and also brings family and friends together, and I think it is just great. But with all of the hype of receiving gifts, one should not forget the reason for the season. Nowadays, I believe many people forget about this important aspect of the holiday season. I am not saying that one should go on a rampage about how the Starbucks cups are just a plain red cup. With all this holiday cheer, let's keep in mind what is important. I know we can all get into the hype of Black Friday and Cyber Monday (I know I do) and getting deals for this and that, but let us not remove our focus on heavenly things. Spread the love, give a hug, enjoy the holiday season. I kind of like that slogan I just came up with. I might just start all of my holiday posts with that slogan.

I will be uploading a new post every Tuesday and Thursday up to Christmas Day.

Last Minute Stocking Stuffers

Hey y'all.. I am so glad to be out of school for winter break because just like any other break this one was much needed. Christmas is two days away, and I figured that there may be people still out there shopping and thinking about gifts. But, sometimes the best presents happen to be in the stocking so here are a few stocking stuffers that I would consider giving. Enjoy.!

Last Minute Stocking Stuffers
Crew Socks: Target have some really cute and comfy pairs of socks.
Hand Sanitizer: I love receiving nice scented hand sanitizers. And Bath & Body Works always have like 5 for $5.
Headband: I'm really into headbands right now. Some super cute hair accessories is always nice to receive.
Chapstick: Eos is my favorite brand of chapstick, but there are so many out there that will also do the trick.  (since it is the winter season)
Makeup Brushes: Some of the ELF makeup brushes are good for simple everyday looks and they are only $1. Can't beat that.

Hope you all have a Happy Holidays.!

Relatable Sunday #13

Y'all, It's exam week, should I say more.. Haha. Through the madness of studying, writing essays, applying for scholarships, and having rehearsals, I am here to say that it can be done. The Lord really did just pick me up and say you're not done yet, Sheika. With saying this, I've been accepted to one of the colleges I applied to which is a blessing and I was so happy to receive my acceptance letter the other day. Yesterday, I took the SAT and that was just a long and tiresome test altogether, but I'm pretty sure I'm done with taking the SAT/ACT for forever. Now, I just have to make through the second semester of my senior year.. where I know the Lord will have to stand by me and pick me up and drag me through the rest of the school year. Because y'all, senioritis is a thing and it's so real.
