January:
17th birthday selfie. Having my birthday right after New Years Day (2nd) kind of feels like people all over are celebrating me being born.(haha.. I know I'm crazy.)
February:
Georgia had like a big snowpocalypse. School was closed for like a week, and thankfully for my family the power did not go out, but it did get pretty bad where I lived.
March:
Some students from the Drama/ Tech department that were involved in the one- act "Mother Hicks" went to SETC( South Eastern Theater Conference) in Mobile, AL. Which is where you look at other plays that won their regions and also go to different drama/ tech workshops. It was super fun exploring the city, and it was also the time where Mardi Gras just ended, so it was super colorful all over. Also, while travelling there, our U-haul truck broke down and the mayor of Frankville came and made sure we were "okay." (middle pic)
April:
I went to my junior prom. No, I did not have a date, but I still had lots of fun with my friends. It was just so nice, getting all dressed up. My school does not have a homecoming, so the juniors and seniors really do look forward to prom.
May:
I finished my junior year of high school and at our school the seniors color is red, so on the last day my class wore red.! Yes, I do have a small class of 110, and that's the biggest class to ever graduate from my high school. Funny, isn't it?
June:
Nothing too significant happened in June, other than being out of school for summer break and just enjoying the sun. Also, visited the Georgia Aquarium because my mom had free tickets.
July:
I toured 3 colleges and it just made me graduating high school seems so real, and I was so excited just to see the location and surrounding areas of 3 possible colleges. Now, out of those 3 college that I toured I only applied to 1, because I felt like it was a good fit for me. Don't worry I applied to more colleges in the fall other than one.
August:
I started my senior year of high school. And this is also the same time I realized that some "friends" aren't meant to stay in your life. I lost some close relationship with friends, but I know that it was for the best. Also, taking care of "senior things" that cost so much money, who knew.
September:
My friend and I volunteered at the Ironman Triathlon and it was the first time I ever been, and it was super fun even while I was helping out. It was great just to take a minute to pause and not think about school and do something fun. And yes, volunteering for me is FUN.!
October:
My drama/ tech department for my high school went to the Georgia Theater Conference to perform our one- act "Selkie" and we ended up wining which meant that we get to go back to SETC again for the 2nd time. So everyone was really happy and excited about that and I personally didn't think that our play would go as far as it did, but again, I am glad.
November:
I received my first scholarship of the year, and I also won a round for another scholarship that I have to go to Virginia in the summer to compete for. Along with the turkey and dressing, I was super thankful for those opportunities.
December:
My brother, sister, and I on Christmas Day. I'm so glad that I am out for winter break. Also, during December I received my first college acceptance letter which really got me in the Christmas spirit.
